Illustration Friday: Portrait (part 2)

I did several pencil drawings of this model using photo reference; combined three for another entry for Illustration Friday. I'm trying to get more comfortable using a graphite stick and her long, dark hair was the perfect feature to practice on.

Very nicely done, each pose seems to capture a different angle of a similar expression - maybe thoughtful, maybe bored. Great shading and definition.

Chris,

I'm resending this. Didn't go through the first time. This portrait series is just amazing. The use of the graphite stick is loose and spontaneous, although each stroke belongs. It demonstrates your understanding of the face and anatomy and your drawing ability. What versatility...I never know what to expect on your blog. It is ever more a pleasant and exciting surprise.
