I am experimenting with portraits, with an eye towards doing commissions. I'm hoping to offer something other than the typical, traditionally-painted art from a photo ( though I'm working on a piece in that category as well.)
The girl was drawn and colored in Photoshop (the final was printed on 12 x 18" toned paper and I added some hand-drawn touches.) The young boy is watercolor and graphite on Strathmore paper.

Chrissie, these are incredible. I love your work, and this style you're experimenting with is beautiful. You're obviously onto something here. I love the watercolor, how it breaks the lines, and softens the whole thing. Just wonderful.
Oran, a million thanks for that lovely comment--I so needed to hear something positive today. :) Much appreciated!
These are incredible Chris.
The combination of watercolor and line is great.
Obviously your drawings are a wonderful part of these.
The watercolors blend so nicely together along with the lovely shapes you've created are a perfect foil for the drawings. You should be overloaded with portraits to do. I may have you do some for me.
Love the style.
