Student for Education Directory Cover

I'm sort of breaking my rule to post only personal art here, and not something done for a client. But I'm fairly sure they're going to choose the cover layout with photos and not the layout with this illustration, so...I guess that's my excuse.

Done in Photoshop, using a stock photo for reference.

I still haven't been able to get the hang of drawing strait into photo shop, still have to do the line work traditionally.

Nice looking illustration, very clean.

Thanks, Josh! I use a Wacom tablet along with a Photoshop brush that closely mimics a pencil; it's fairly similar to drawing traditionally, although it takes some getting used to.

I use a tablet as well, it's just not as natural to me. Mine's not Wiacom though, haven't had the extra 350 to throw down on that.
